From 14 to 24 October 2009 four Antwerp partners join forces to present Amperdans4, an international performance and dance festival. Amperdans demonstrates the commitment of wpZimmer, Monty, Troubleyn/Laboratorium and the Royal Ballet of Flanders to dance and is designed to acquaint you with the diversity and dynamism currently to be seen on today’s dance scene.
Amperdans4 gives free rein to performance, dance and hybrid forms and goes in search of the common interfaces. You can immerse yourself in a wide range of performances, with challenging work by both absolute beginners and established names. The programme includes international talent that has not yet been seen on stage in Flanders and some of the best dance performances produced during our country in the recent season.
We hope to see you at one of the many locations in Antwerp during these ten days, all of which are jam-packed with performances, and will be only too pleased to take you on an invigorating and interesting tour of the city and of contemporary dance and performance
As Amperdans4’s festival centre Monty is the ideal pace for artists and festival-goers to meet. Monty_ABN has been converted into the festival’s restaurant, the foyer has become its central nervous system and buzzing underbelly.
Amperdans4 opens with three performances that get the festival off to a flying start: two international guests and one Belgian revival. For eight days Monty is the beating heart of Amperdans4 with a whole series of performances and Annex Amperdans interventions. And, to bring the festival to a close, Boemtjak&Soi provide the sights and sounds for a wild party with their DVJ set.
The festival’s bar is open from 17:00
The festival’s restaurant is open from 18:00 to 22:00
Le Retraiteur serves colourful and healthy dishes.
After their unforgettable DVJ set at Amperdans3 Boemtjak&Soi are once again to be seen and heard in Monty’s foyer. Specially for this edition of Amperdans Boemtjak&Soi will be dropping a barrage of audiovisual bombs: their explosive view of contemporary Dance Politics. And for once you can take that literally…
Boemtjak&Soi remix audio and video, resulting in an AV frenzy that may cause serious retinal and auditory damage. They are not subtle, not aesthetic and not your average late-night entertainment. Boemtjak&Soi are everything else. Blending dubstep, d'n'b and more genre-defying music with surprising and thought-provoking eye candy, you will find your hips shaking and your eyes glued to the screen.
